THOUSANDS of runners will take to the streets for the annual Leicester Marathon.

The event will see runners of all ages and abilities participating in the run to raise money for charities, including the Matt Hampson Foundation and the LOROS Hospice. Runners can choose between 13.1 miles on the half marathon route, or going for the full marathon and the 26.2-mile route.
This year’s event sees the introduction of the free to enter LOROS Maza Fun Run - a 5k run starting in Abbey Park and ending in the midst of all the action on Victoria Park. The Maza (meaning FUN in hindi) Fun Run has been created to encourage the less sporty residents of Leicester to get fit and come together in this fantastic local community event inspired by the legacy of the 2012 London Olympics.
